Media Pending Approval is an imageboard feature where files uploaded by posters are hidden until a janny approves them. Usually the hashes of previously approved files are remembered so reuploads don't have to be approved, also the poster's IPs can be whitelisted or an account system can be used to allow selected users to skip approval entirely.

MPA is used to prevent 'p spam or posting of similar antimatter like BMT

Since Vichan and Jschan don't come with MPA out of the box, you either have to use a fork or one of the newer engines.

Some imageboards like the Shemmy and Chinny have opted to use Post Approval instead, arguably much more effective since 'P links and/or babybot spammers can be stopped without the jannies having to work 24/7.
