arquivo.pt also known as the portuguese web archive is a web archiving site from Portugal[lower-alpha 1] made in the early 90's[1] by the Foundation for science and technology of Portugal.
Archivo.pt regularly archives all of the sites that use the .pt domain automatically however said content is only available to the public after a year of it's archival.[2]
arquivo.pt shows archives of websites since 1996[3] and it has over 2.3 Billion archives of 73 million sites as of January of 2026.[4]
Functionality
In arquivo.pt in order to archive a site you need to go to the section of "archive now"[5] and like you would do with any other URL you insert the link, however unlike most archiving sites, arquivo.pt shows a bunch of mojibake characters instead of a loading screen.
Just like archive.today it can take a while for a page to be archived.
Arquivo404
Arquivo404 is a service that allows whenever an user access a website it checks if the site in question has been archived in arquivo404 thus redirecting the user to a preserved version of that site, example of this: https://www.fccn.pt/SCCN/
Citation Saver
It allows to its user to archive the links within a document to preserve them, so they can be retrieved from arquivo.pt.
Soysphere archives
Note, these can take a WHILE to load.
Mostly incomplete
Mostly incomplete, the most preserved one is the 2023 'chives, in particular the ones from early 2023.
