In layman's terms, bait is something typically used to catch another individual or something.

Bait (also known as baiting, baitposting or deliberately being a retard in the hopes you can get infinite reppeys) is a commonplace staple in most corners of the internet. In the soysphere especially, bait is a tactic used to observe seethe from nusoigoogoogagacacas. However, the art of the bait is a difficult practice to master.

How to bait

Before baiting anything or anyone, find a community that has a hard stance on a topic, and determine if seethe will be caused if you take a contrarian position to it. This is required if you intend to laugh at the misfortune and anger of other people like the absolute aryan (You) are.

For this example (and to not take any positions on anything that actually matters), our sample will have a collective dislike for the color red and a collective preference for the color blue.

To generate seethe and possibly be considered a hecking offsite boogeyman discoalnigger commiepaedotroon, do these:

1. Prepare a contrarian and deliberately demeaning response (E.G. "Blue is statistically preferred by Aryans and trannies prefer Red!" or a photo of the color purple)
2. Prepare yourself to forever take this contrarian stance and harass anyone that replies to you taking the sample's stance.
3. Post the bait.
4. "Defend" yourself from members of the sample that fall for your bait by further riling the sample up more.
5. Get banned when you inevitably failtroll by posting something that goes against the site's rules

Fishing

Bait is commonly used in fishing to make catching fish a much easier task. Baiting fish is also arguably better for your health than baiting people on the internet (as shown above). The three main types of bait that can be used when fishing are:

1. Live bait - These are typically worms or other insects fish eat. When kept alive, it's very easy to catch many types of fish with live bait.
2. Natural/Dead bait - These are typically meats of fish or other animals, including cut up fish themselves. Used in catching predatory fish like lake trout.
3. Artificial lures - These are durable and are re-usable and are good for catching a good few types of fish with, but do not have the natural movement or scent qualities live bait does.

To use bait, attach it to the end of your hook before casting it into the fishing waters. Remember to wait for a strong pull on your rod before reeling in any potential caught fish.
