SECApedia prefers article volume over strict quality. In other words, if you want to create an article but dont have a grand amount of info, then you should make it anyway because its better for an article to exist rather than to not exist.

The bare minimums

There are certain typing styles that should be default here on SECApedia, those being:

  • Proper Capitalization, Grammar and punctiuation.
  • Usage of "<br>" for new lines and a space in between paragraphs to divide them
  • Proper usage of headers. (= VERY BIG =, == BIG ==, === MEDIUM ===, ==== SMALL ====, =====VERY SMALL=====)
Usually it is not recommended to use the = VERY BIG = header as its size is a bit unnecessary.
  • Usage of the Template Wrapper when a page has more than 2~3 templates. The most important ones should remain in the first area (unhidden)
Example: {{Templatewrapper|{{Template1}}|{{Template2}}}} or {{Tw|{{Template1}}|{{Template2}}}} as a shorter version. Both are acceptable/interchangable.
  • As much references (<ref>Reference</ref>) & notes ({{Note|Note}}) as possible. If you are missing a source, use the {{CitationNeeded}} template.
Aditionally, please use the {{Reflist}} and {{Notelist}} templates at the bottom of you pages to display references and notes properly.

Additionally per the rules, all pages should be in American English.

Page Ratings

Unlike topic ratings which usually depend on opinion and common sense, page ratings depend on their objective quality, those being:

  • Coal - Articles of bad quality, usually missing content, and a lot of the bare minimums listed above.
  • Iron (Unmarked) - Articles of sufficient quality, usually not rich in content but good enough for a reader to understand.
  • Ruby - Articles of good quality that are usually relatively rich in content while still implying that they can be further perfected into a Gem article.
  • Gem - Articles of good quality that are also rich in content.
  • Gemerald/Tanzanite - Articles of practically perfect quality, usually very long, very rich & TRVTHTSARBOMBA filled articles.

While using page ratings is not necessary, we please ask that they should not be misused.
For more info about ratings, check the Mineral Rating System.
