Proper Soyspeak, or Sprec-Nu, is a constructed dialect based upon the conlang of Soyspeak with a limited vocabulary, mostly derived from English and German with some loanwords from French, Spanish, Russian, and Original Soyspeak. It is speculated that this language could exist in the future, used by the sharty after its point of divergence from Western cultures.
Grammar and Vocabulary
[edit | edit source]The grammar is minimal and is only indicated through punctuation, while names are still capitalized. Although the English language may appear confusing when translated into Soyspeak, it becomes more understandable upon further reading. When converting loanwords or names into Soyspeak, they should be spelled out using IPA letters. If the letter is not English, it should be converted to a lookalike or what it sounds like the most. Diaereses are also used to create diphthongs (merging two vowels into the one sound). However, only ï and ü are native to Sprec-Nu.

Translation Process
[edit | edit source]<math>English \longrightarrow Tokipona \longrightarrow SprecNu \longrightarrow English</math>
Numeral System
[edit | edit source]The number system is highly complex, with only four legitimate numbers, those being ans (1), twa (2), hand (5), and file (100). To create larger numbers, words must be duplicated or added to create bigger numbers; twa twa is four, hand ans is 6, etc. (literally nobody does this doebeit)
Numeral Prefixes
[edit | edit source]Alternatively, speakers may use numeral prefixes. These prefixes MUST be spelled phonetically as they would be in Sprec-Nu, so "uni" becomes Juni, etc. To create bigger numbers, prefixes are merged together to form these numbers, so viginti + uni (21) becomes Vidzintijuni, etc.
Arabic Number System
[edit | edit source]To make ease for speakers, the ANS (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Ϫ, 7, 8, 9) may be used. This is especially useful for big numbers.
